Zambian DNA spokesperson Spuki Mulemwa told the Daily Nation that without government’s timely intervention, the cholera situation would have deteriorated further, and could have resulted in more deaths than currently recorded. Mr. Mulemwa said the intervention aimed at quelling the situation as well as ensuring that the affected marketeers and vendors were given temporal trading spaces at facilities such as City Market as a permanent solution was gratifying. “Zambian DNA commends Government for the robust interventions to contain cholera, including the unprecedented immunization against the disease via OCV.
