According to the Central Statistics Office, report on Zambia’s major import products, South Africa has continued to be Zambia’s leading source of imports with the major products being gas and oils, products that took up 4.5 percent of the total imports. The second largest source of Zambia’s imports in November was the Democratic Republic of Congo which sold products worth K2, 158 million into Zambia in the month under review. The major import products from that country included cobalt oxides and hydroxides which contributed to the 26.1 percent share the country was holding in November.
