North Western Commissioner of Police Auxensio Daka confirmed the incident to the Daily Nation and named the survivor as Boyd Funga. Mr Daka said Mr Funga was taking a bath in the Zambezi River when the reptile pounced on him. “It has left him with a wound on the right part of the chest and on the left leg and several scratches on the right leg,” he said. He however said Mr Funga was out of danger and was admitted to Chavuma Mission Hospital.
