President Kagame garnered 98.63 percent of the votes in last week’s election to give him another seven-year mandate after ruling the country for 17 years since coming into power in 2000. In a statement issued by his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations, Amos Chanda yesterday, President Lungu said President Kagame’s re-election was a demonstration of the confidence the people of Rwanda had in his leadership and vision for that country.
