Before the court were Patel Sahil Ismail and Mulla Yahya Yusuf. It is alleged that Ismail, 27, of Simon Mwewa Lane in Lusaka, remained in Zambia after expiry of an immigration permit contrary to section 52(3) as read with section 56(1) of the Immigration and Deportation Act number 18 of 2010 of the Laws of Zambia. In the second count, Ismail is charged for engaging in employment without a work permit contrary to section 54 as read with section 56(1) of the Immigration and Deportation Act number 18 of 2010 of the laws of Zambia. It is alleged that on July 19, 2017 in Lusaka, Patel engaged in employment as a sales assistant at Sana Cash and Carry situated in Libala area without any Immigration permit or lawful authority.
