ACEER Health director Usha Sriram, said the exercise would be executed at no cost to the Zambian government as her non -governmental organisation, Diabetes in Women Worldwide Awareness Advocacy Action Strategies – DWAAS, would sponsor the advocacy programmes. Dr Sriram said diabetes had proven to be very aggressive in women and children leading to the International Diabetes Federation declaring the theme for the 2017 International Diabetes Day as “Women in Diabetes.“ She has since called for increased awareness activities ahead of the World Diabetes Day observed on November 14 annually.
