Vice President Inonge Wina informed the House that government recognized the importance of such a proposal to display Dr. Kaunda’s portrait in public places as the founding father of the nation. She was responding to a question for oral answer by Mbulakulima who wanted to find out whether government had any plans to display Dr. Kaunda’s portrait in public places as the founding father of the nation. Ms Wina said government had not considered the matter, adding that should the executive feel it could be done the nation would be informed accordingly.
