Tue, 04 Jul 2017 10:27:08 +0000 … As the young Zambian boxer scoops his first international bout By MICHAEL MIYOBA ORIENTAL Quarries Boxing Promotions Young boxer Alfred Muwowo scooped his first bout in his boxing career after knocking out Tanzanian Haji Juma in the vacant African Boxing Union (ABU) flyweight title fight at Zmart Mall in Ndola last Sunday evening. And former WBC champions Catherine Phiri and Charles Manyuchi also recorded victories in their respective non-title bouts. Muwowo put pressure on Juma with his explosive punches which forced the Tanzanian boxer to surrender in the fifth round of the bout. The win becomes Muwowo’s seventh win in his career and maintains his unbeaten record with six knockouts. Speaking in an interview after being declared winner, Muwowo commended his coach Mike Zulu and manager Chris Malunga for preparing him adequately for the fight.
