The Zambia Police Service is getting rid of what are said to be disgruntled elements in a large-scale shake-up, that will hopefully plug leaks and increase the publics confidence in the service. Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said although she had not received the information, the shake-up was a normal exercise done routinely. The sources however explained that the letter ordered that the police high command submits a list of all disgruntled police officers. They said the list was supposed to be submitted to the Deputy Inspector General of Police – Administration by Monday, 12th June 2017 before 12:00 hours. “The letter is directing that police high command should submit the details of disgruntled police officers under their respective command,” said the sources.
