Magic dominated play and led with more than 15 points in the first quarter. The merciless thumping of Munali sent Magic to the summit of the Midlands Basketball League table with 2 points, on par with second placed Green Buffaloes and UNZA Pacers who also won their week one fixtures. Green Buffaloes defeated NAPSA Hurricanes 64-48 while 2016 Midlands Basketball League runners up UNZA Pacers thrashed Heroes Play United 79-67 to collect maximum two points.
