Bernard Chanda, a motorist, said the road was no longer safe because criminals were using the darkness to attack motorists by grabbing things from vehicles especially when stopping at traffic lights. Mr Chanda said if the problem remained unattended vandals will take advantage and start damaging the street lights and poles which would be a drawback to the council. Another motorist Jerald Maswau said streets kids were also stoning vehicles and putting obstacles on the road so that once a driver stopped they would be robbed. Mr Maswau said the council should move in quickly and repair the lights because street kids were taking advantage of the darkness to conduct illegal activities.
