Dr Kunda said that MCA was prompted to initiate a project to rehabilitate the water network in Lusaka because Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company (LWSC) was losing over 48 percent of the water it was generating as a result of leakages. He said that the company had already embarked on different projects to replace the water network in selected townships across the city at a total cost of US$ 120 million. Dr Kunda explained that the main aim of the project was to supply Lusaka with consistent clean water by early next year.
