Division deputy commissioner of police Chola Katanga told the Daily Nation that the province was quiet and peaceful with people going about their business without disruptions. “I can confirm with you that there are no riots in the province contrary to what is on social media. The region is very peaceful,” Mr Katanga said. Mr Katanga said police officers were on standby and on high alert to curb any form of riotous acts. “So, we have both motorised and foot patrols across the region and as I am speaking there is no sign whatsoever that people can engage themselves in such acts,” he added.
