Sat, 25 Feb 2017 11:39:43 +0000 THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set Tuesday April 25, 2017, as the date on which to hold the district chairperson’s election for Masaiti and local government by-election in Ipongo and Kasamba wards. The elections in Masaiti district have been necessitated following the resignation of the council chairperson while the vacancy in Ipongo and Kasamba occurred due to the death of areas’ councillors. ECZ senior public relations officer Sylvia Bwalya told the Daily Nation in a statement that the polls would take place from 06:00 hours to 18:00 hours. “Aspiring candidates in the by-elections should lodge completed and attested statutory declaration and nomination papers before a magistrate, local court magistrate, head of a Government primary or secondary school, principal of a college, commissioner of oaths, election officer or returning officer on Thursday March 16, 2017, between 09:00 hours and 15:00 hours,” she said.
