And Mr Chishimba has vowed that the ZCTU, on behalf of the civil service, would not accept a wage freeze in 2017. Speaking during the end of year press briefing, Mr Chishimba said the labour movement would not tolerate intimidation from Government. He has warned that there would be an invisible ‘go slow’ leading to low production if workers would be intimidated by the employers. Mr Chishimba said the Government informed the civil servants sector unions that they wanted to re-balance the economy in 2017. “…But we are appealing to the Government not to impose harsh conditions on the workers,” he said.
