Thu, 14 Feb 2013 13:41:26 +0000 A 74 year old retired farmer of Mkushi has been charged with 51 counts of causing death by dangerous driving, and the Kabwe magistrates’ court has denied him bail. Before Kabwe principal resident magistrate John Mbuzi was Abraham Van Edeem of plot 1481 Mkushi farming block who stood charged with 51 counts of causing death by dangerous driving contrary to section 161 of road traffic act No. 11 of 2002 of the laws of Zambia. It is alleged that Van Edeem, while driving a Toyota Landcruiser ABH 2214 on the Great North road, a public road led to the collision of a Lusaka bound Post bus and a Congolese truck, an accident which led to the death of 51 people at John Chinena area near Chibombo district.
