The cardinal who had been taken ill due to spine problems was discharged this week and is back home. In a telephone conversation with President Sata last week cardinal Mazombwe informed the Head of State that he would be discharged from hospital soon and would return home almost immediately. The 80 year old cardinal was early this month evacuated to South Africa for specialist treatment for a spinal problem. Eminence Mazombwe was earlier admitted to Italian hospital before his evacuation.
