Mon, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 BY CHINTU MALAMBO LUSAKA Water and Sewerage Company (LWSC) today joins the rest of the world in commemorating this year’s United Nations World Water Day whose theme is “Wastewater”, aimed at encouraging individuals and communities to reduce and safely recycle the increasing quantities of waste water that is produced. In a statement issued to the Daily Nation ahead of the commemoration, LWSC managing director Sylvester Mashamba said that instead of wasting waste water, there was need to reduce and reuse it as it was a valuable resource. He said that the vast majority of all the waste water from homes, cities, industry and agriculture flows back to nature without being treated or reused, thereby polluting the environment.
