By GIDEON NYENDWA KAOMA District is set to benefit from a new nutrition support project spearheaded by the Programme Against Malnutrition (PAM) with support from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). The initiative aims to improve access to nutrient-dense foods for nutritionally vulnerable populations under the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) II programme by promoting improved dietary diversity. The project will enhance the production and consumption of bio-fortified crops, including orange maize, orange-fleshed sweet potatoes, improved cassava (Mweru), iron-rich beans, and green leafy vegetables.
