MUMBI Phiri, a veteran politician says she could never ever betray Sixth President Edgar Lungu despite the machinations of UPND the governing party. Ms Phiri who is also a former diplomat and deputy secretary general of the PF said in an interview yesterday that reports circulating on social media that she had told the former head of State to retire from politics were fake. “UPND has been approaching me to join them but even if they brought trunks of money- like they accused PF of having money- I can never ever join them,” she said. Ms Phiri said she did not believe in the leadership of UPND. “I can tell you that the Speaker (Nelly Mutti) and Gertrude Imenda (UPND deputy secretary general …number three from President Hakainde Hichilema) have been approaching me to join UPND,” she said.
