By MUBITA KATETE THE Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has filed a formal complaint with Amnesty International, accusing the United Party for National Development (UPND) government of weaponising the country’s legal and justice systems to suppress opposition voices. This move follows a series of alleged human rights violations and the erosion of the rule of law under President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration. In a letter to Dr. Agnès Callamard, the Secretary General of Amnesty International, EFF president, Kasonde Mwenda outlined a pattern of arbitrary arrests, physical assaults, and the manipulation of state machinery to stifle dissent.
