By GIDEON NYENDWA THE Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has reassured the nation of a stable supply of Anti-Retroviral (ARV) drugs, with over six months’ worth of stock available to meet the needs of patients on Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART). ZAMMSA’s Senior Corporate Communications Officer, Enoch Lusoke said the country was well-prepared to meet demand across all treatment lines first, second, and third. “There is no current or impending shortage of ARVs, we urge the public to remain calm. Any healthcare facilities experiencing temporary stock-outs have been encouraged to place emergency orders to avoid interruptions in service delivery,” Mr Lusoke said. He reaffirmed ZAMMSA’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to essential medical supplies, highlighting its efforts to streamline the procurement, storage, and distribution of health commodities.
