By NATION REPORTER WITH various voices growing louder against police brutality and its apparent biasness, the Zambia Police Service says it is actively working to enhance professionalism within its rank and file. Rae Hamoonga, the police spokesperson said in a statement yesterday that there was on-going capacity-building initiatives which included human rights training, community engagement programmes and adoption of modern policing techniques to improve service delivery. Mr Hamoonga said the police were also engaging with stakeholders, including civil society, to foster trust and collaboration. “However, we recognize that there may be instances where actions taken have been perceived as heavy-handed.
