By SENIYA BANDA THE United Health and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (UHAWUZ) has expressed concern over the persistent lack of improvement in the supply of essential medical commodities, particularly reagents, in health facilities. UHAWUZ president Daniel Mwimbe explained that despite reports from the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency indicating improved drug stock levels, the availability of reagents remain inadequate. Mr. Mwimbe noted that this shortage has negatively impacted the performance of laboratory technicians, hindering their ability to deliver effective services. He has urged the government to prioritise equipping health facilities with essential medical supplies, including reagents, to ensure improved healthcare delivery in the New Year.
