Voting will take place between 06:00 hours and 18:00 hours on the same day. According to a statement released by the ECZ, the by-election followed the conviction of the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr. Ronald Chitotela of the Patriotic Front (PF), and the subsequent declaration of a vacancy in the parliamentary seat by the Speaker of the National Assembly. Nomination day for aspiring candidates has been set for January 7, 2025, with submissions to be made between 09:00 hours and 15:00 hours.
