By MUBITA KATETE THE National Union of Public and Private Educators of Zambia (NUPPEZ) has commended the government for introducing a new education curriculum aimed at promoting lifelong entrepreneurship and practical skills development. Speaking at a press briefing yesterday, Mr. Victor Muyumba, the NUPPEZ president said the new curriculum is designed to align educational outcomes with the evolving needs of the job market, better preparing students for future challenges. Mr Muyumba said the curriculum was an expansion of the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, which was now reaching 2.3 million learners across 70 districts. He stated that the program’s significant role in keeping children, particularly in rural areas, in school and addressing challenges like drought. Mr Muyuma also expressed the union’s support for the government’s initiative to provide free sanitary wear for girls, a move that has helped reduce absenteeism and promoted gender equality in education.
