By GIDEON NYENDWA Socialist Party leader Dr. Fred M’membe has raised serious concerns about the proposed reintroduction of the Voluntary National Youth Service by President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration. Dr. M’membe is alleging that the timing and intentions behind the program are politically motivated, warning that it could lead to significant unrest ahead of the 2026 general election. He claims that the proposed program, which includes military training for youth, was aimed at creating what he has termed as a ‘private reserve army’ loyal to the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND).
