By BARNABAS ZULU THE Party for National Unity & Progress (PNUP) has distanced itself from its president, Highvie Hamududu’s endorsement for President Hakainde Hichilema for the 2026 general election. In a statement on Thursday, PNUP secretary general Stella Chintu has clarified that no official decision had been made regarding the party’s position on alliances or endorsements. “We have not resolved whether to go into a UPND or TONSE Alliance,” Ms Chintu said. Ms Chintu’s clarification follows comments made by Mr. Hamududu earlier this week, when he publicly expressed support for President Hichilema, stating that the endorsement was PNUP’s official position.
