By NATION REPORTERZAMBIA Wake Up Party (ZAWAPA) president Howard Kunda says the mine accidents being experienced on the Copperbelt is a sign that much needs to be done with regards to mine safety.Seven miners at Macro Link mine in Mufulira were on Sunday morning trapped after the mine was flooded.Mr Kunda said it was regrettable that the mining sector had yet again recorded another tragedy.He said safety measures needed to be enforced in order to reduce mine accidents.He observed that mine accidents were a sign that safety measures are somehow not being taken seriously.The ZAWAPA leader urged authorities to ensure that mine owners take issues safety seriously because lives cannot be lost due to negligence.“It is not good for the country to be losing breadwinners through mine accidents,this is regrettable.
