By NOEL IYOMBWATRADITIONAL ceremonies are a uniting factor among the country’s more than 72 tribes and should therefore be promoted and respected, Garry Nkombo has said.Mr Nkombo, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development says the importance of traditional ceremonies should never be over emphasised because of the role they played in uniting and developing the country.[ihc-hide-content ihc_mb_type=”show” ihc_mb_who=”4,5,6″ ihc_mb_template=”2″ ]Speaking during the Kazanga traditional ceremony of the Nkoya people of Western, Southern and Central provinces Mr Nkombo said traditional ceremonies were serving the purpose of bringing people from diverse traditional and cultural backgrounds together. He said that traditional ceremonies were a uniting factor and preserved Zambia’s cultural heritage.
