By NATION REPORTERZESCO should reduce electricity load shedding to at least three hours to give relief to citizens living inpoor communities, Citizens First (CF) Party leader, Harry Kalaba has said.Last week, Energy Minister Paul Kapala told parliament that due to the low levels of water in the KaribaLake, ZESCO will implement a load management schedule of 6hrs daily, starting on the 15th ofDecember until water levels improve.Mr Kalaba said it was cruel for the new dawn government to subject poor citizens to lengthy powerrationing when they were just recovering from the devastating effects of Covid 19 that almost crippledthe livelihood of the poor Zambians.He said Zambia was generating more electricity than it uses but was exporting it to South Africa,Namibia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe, the development he said was not only fair butalso had potential to slow down economic activities in the country.According to Zesco, load shedding is expected to end in March […]
