By VITA BANDAKAMFINSA Member of Parliament Christopher Kang’ombe has urged ZCCM-IH to considerrenegotiating the 3.1 percent royalty transaction with First Quantum Minerals.Mr Kang’ombe says ZCCM-IH should at least negotiate for 10 percent so that the country canbenefit from Kansanshi mine.He says the 10 percent will help government to table gaps in financing the national budget.The lawmaker says if the country generates more revenue, it will be channeled to othereconomic sectors.He says that if ZCCM-IH fails to renegotiate, it should consider cleaning up bottlenecks in thedividend system.He says the country needs to be benefiting from the sector unlike what is happening.Mr Kang’ombe says the country has enough resources but benefitted less from the sector.
