Government terminates 197 contracts countrywide

By NATION REPORTERGOVERNMENT has with immediate effect terminated 197 Feeder Roads contracts across the country, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) Permanent Secretary Maambo Haamaundu has announced.In a letter addressed to Town Clerks, Council Secretaries, City and Town Councils, Mr Haamaundu said the Ministry had terminated the 197 Feeder Roads Contracts across the country in line with Clauses 59.60.2 and 71.1 of the signed contracts.Mr Haamaundu has since instructed all concerned to ensure that all affected contractors in the districts should stop working and make their sites safe as soon as reasonably possible.“This serves to inform that the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has terminated 197 Feeder Roads contracts across the country. You are therefore instructed to ensure that all affected contractors in your districts stop working and make the sites safe as soon as reasonably possible, Mr Haamaundu said in a short letter.
