By VITA BANDAFORMER Labour Minister Fackson Shamenda has urged the UPND government to desist from politicising the operations of National Pensions Schemes Authority (NAPSA).Mr Shamenda said there is need for the UPND administration to familiarise itself with operations of NAPSA before making any decision. He told Millennium TV news in an interview that money remitted to NAPSA by employers is used by the government for investment thereby generate revenue for operations. He pointed out that amending the Pensions law to allow employee to start accessing money before retirement will cripple the operations of the government. He said it will be risking to temper with NAPSA because the stability of the country’s economy was dependent on the organisation.Mr Shamenda said if government goes ahead to allow employees to access their pension money, it will have to borrow more for operations.
Don’t politicize NAPSA operations, warns Shamenda
