By MUKWIMA CHILALAGOVERNANCE expert Moses Kalonde has observed that some opposition political players are being unfair on President Hakainde Hichilema by holding him accountable over the country’s current economic hardships when the factors are beyond the government’s control.Mr Kalonde who is Network for Young people Against Violence executive director observed that the current economic situation in the country where commodity prices had skyrocketed should not be blamed on the new dawn administration as Zambia is at the mercy of the happenings in international politics. He said opposition political players should stop politicising the skyrocketing commodity prices but instead support the government by offering solutions as the current situation called for unity of purpose.“It would be naïve not to admit that the cost of living has gone up but there is need to exercise patience with the government as they have shown political will through some of the policies and measures introduced so far,” Mr Kalonde said.
