FORMER UPND spokesperson, Charles Kakoma and former vice president Canisius Banda, including others who left the party are free to rejoin the ruling UPND, Cornelius Mweetwa has said.Mr Mweetwa, who is the UPND spokesperson stated that the new dawn administration of President Hakainde Hichilema is committed to strengthening and respecting human rights at all costs and therefore people were free to join parties of their choice.Prior to the August 2021 generaleElections, the UPND then in opposition suffered major setbacks as Mr Kakoma, Dr Banda and other politicians dumped it in favour of the then ruling Patriotic Front (PF) party.And Mr Mweetwa said the UPND respects the freedom for people to associate and assemble.Mr Mweetwa said both new and old members are welcome to rejoin the UPND because people have a democratic right to belong to their party of choice.Mr Mweetwa, who is also Southern Province Minister, said this in an interview in Zimba yesterday.He said […]
