By Flavia Kanungo GOVERNMENT has been advised to invest in monitoring mechanisms around the implementation of the free education policy. The Zambia National Education Coalition (ZANEC) has observed that a number of issues have been raised from various schools such as inadequate spaces and some pupils being charged school fees which the ministry should take seriously. ZANEC executive director, George Hamusunga said yesterday there is need for the ministry to engage individuals who will conduct routine monitoring of free education in order to address the teething problems that are occurring.He said as a long term measure government must also draft a policy that will include the aspiration of free education and clear direction for all the players including parents’ obligation.
