Solwezi council approves K121m 2022 budgetBy Jackson MapapayiSolwezi Municipal Council has approved the proposed K121 Million annual budget.The 2022 budget has a decreased by one percent in comparison to the 2021 budget which was at K 121,843,410.00.The budget was approved during a Special Council meeting.According to a statement issued by public relations officer Joy Sichizya, the budget will focus on implementing economic and developmental projects directed at delivering services to the public.“And among the capital projects to be undertaken by the Council this year include: construction of a Fire Brigade, modern Market and Bus Station, Abattoir, installation of Street Lights, upgrading of selected roads to climate resilient Standard among others,” said Ms Sichizya.She said during the meeting Solwezi Mayor Remmy Kalepa said that the approved budget will enable the implementation of various projects that will improve the living standards of Solwezi residents.Mr. Kalepa has tasked Council management to commence implementation of the approved projects as […]
