BY JULIET MAKWAMAMILENGE Member of Parliament, Gystave Chonde has called on Government to consider holding on to maize stocks currently in the sat- ellite depots because it may be needed to be given to the people in view of the looming hunger as a result of the con- tinued dry spells the country is experiencing.Most parts of the country have been experiencing dry spells since the beginning ofthe rainy season with the Me- teorological Department pre- dicting a longer average to be- low average rainfall activities in the coming few days .But Mr Chonde said that hunger is looming in his con- stituency and other parts of the country with the contin- ued dry spell and that Govern- ment through the Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant authorities must quickly inter- vene to mitigate the looming hunger in the countryside.He added that people in the country side have found themselves in a difficult position because […]
