HITTING A MINOR EARNS MAN 5 YEARS IN JAILBy LUCY PHIRIA21-YEAR-OLD man of Lusaka has been sentenced to five years imprisonment for hitting a child with an iron bar thereby occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 248 of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.Appearing before Lusaka magistrate Sinvula was Paul Chisha, a bricklayer, who was accused of assaulting a child.Facts are that on October 5 at around 19:30 hours the victim was walking to a shop within Nine-Miles when Chisha confronted him and accused him of occupying the entire road.He then hit the victim with an iron bar on the leg which he was carrying and the boy sustained injuries as confirmed on the medical reports.The matter was then reported to the police and he was apprehended.
