Govt To Enhance Funding To Technology,Science Programs

Peter Tembo-Technology and Science Minister FELIX MUTATI says his ministry will enhance the provision of funds to technology, science, and innovation programmes this year.Mr. MUTATI says his ministry will work in collaboration with the ministry of small and medium scale enterprises to actualize the innovative ideas in the country.He adds that Zambia has the capacity to create over ten thousand jobs this year through innovation, Science and technology.Speaking during a joint grant and merit awards ceremony, Mr. MUTATI said government has expressed its commitment by increasing the grant.And speaking at the same event National Technology Business Center, Chief Executive officer, CHITUNDU KASASE appealed to the scientific community to take advantage of government opportunities and take part in national development.Mr. KASASE said out of 90 applications received last year, twenty one applicants have been awarded grants ranging from K433,500.Source : ZNBC
