FORMER LEADERS GET AMNESTY TO SURRENDER VEHICLESBy NATION REPORTERMINISTER of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Jack Mwiimbu, has given a sev- en day amnesty effective today to all former govern- ment officials, parastatal organization leaders, polit- ical cadres and members of the public who are illegally holding on to government vehicles to surrender them.Mr. Mwiimbu said fail- ure to do so, government through the security wings will institute investigations to recover all concealed mo- tor vehicles and those found wanting will be arrested and charged for theft of motor vehicles.He said government will give a token of appreciationto any member of the pub- lic who will provide relevant information leading to the successful recovery of the said motor vehicles.And Mr. Mwiimbu has ex- pressed displeasure and dis- appointment at the political violence that has character- ized the Kabwata constitu- ency parliamentary by-elec- tions campaigns.He has warned individuals and all political parties in- volved to immediately […]
