By SENIYA BANDACANCER Diseases Hospital Senior Medical Superintendent Lewis Banda says strides to reduce the high cervical cancer cases have continued being hampered by Covid-19 and lack of proper medical machinery.Dr Banda said a number of patients are pending to access treatment and due to lack of proper medical machinery they are not able to get the service at the hospital.Speaking in line with January being cervical awareness month, he said Covid-19 has also contributed to the delay in the detection of the disease as some patients are reluctant to visit the centres.Dr Banda is however hopeful that with current investment being put in place, access to cancer treatment will be enhanced.
