BURSARIES/LOAN REPAYMENTSDear Editor,I THINK the government needs to quickly relook at the issue of student loans repayments. I have been reading up this issue and I think it’s not making sense.The people who benefitted from the student loan scheme are being punished with those huge repayment amounts.This takes me to the issue that my colleague Christopher Kang’ombe raised of opening a bank for students to access student loans. I think even banks don’t charge so much as what the loans board is charging.We have a duty to educate our young people but when we do they must not be turned into slaves working for almost nothing just to pay back for the sponsorship we gave them.The Minister of Education will do well to study this matter as urgently as possible.BINWELLL CHANSA MPUNDU.
