Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti this afternoon reserved ruling on a point of order raised by Kalabo MP Chinga Miyutu who wanted to know whether PF vice president Given Lubinda was in order to demean her officeHon Miyutu said PF members of parliament led by Given Lubinda had on Wednesday held a press briefing where they suggested that a social studies scholar in primary school was better schooled on the principal of separation of powers of government organs than the speaker was.Hon Miyutu cited the Powers and Privileges Act chapter 12, section 19(d) which implies that she speaker shall not be demeaned through speech.In her response, the speaker said she was not privy to what was said by Lubinda and that she would study the matter in order to make a ruling.Meanwhile PF members have continued boycotting parliamentary proceedings in the National Assembly following their walk-out from the house after the speaker ruled […]
