BY LUCY PHIRI POLICE have warned of stern action against scammers who have gone on rampage swindling hapless people out of millions of Kwacha through fake internet advertisements usually on Facebook.Zambia Police Spokesperson Rae Haamonga said scammers should know that their days were numbered as police would intensify investigations on the escalating number of scammers on social media platforms.Mr Haamonga said investigations were underway and police would not spare anyone found wanting as they would arrest all culprits. He said a lot of people got swindled because of following advertisements which mostly purported to be selling cheap goods compared to market prices.“People follow cheap products and end up being scammed, but we shall arrest anybody found wanting and prosecute them,’’ said Mr Haamonga.Mr Haamonga has urged Zambians to be careful with the cheap advertisements they followed on social media and advised people to use normal channels of transacting goods.
