BY MAKOKWA CLARA MUYENDEKWAA MAN has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for stealing four goats contrary to section 275 (2) and 272 of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.It is alleged that on September 2, 2021, Antine Munsaka stole two goats valued at K800 property of Keswell Mweemba who is the complainant in the matter.After listening to four witnesses, the court established that it was true the accused person had stolen the animals and convicted him, adding that he had pleaded guilty to the charge.The court explained that the second witness Given Mweemba who told the court that he observed the goats missing while tendering and recovered some goats from. The accused’s residence was direct evidence.He also explained that the first and second witnesses were able to identify the goats as belonging to the complainant.
