By FLAVOR KANUNGOTHE Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has justified that the high failure rate recorded at the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE) is due to the institution’s desire to have qualified and well trained lawyers.LAZ president Abyudi Shonga explained that the course is designed in such a way that it is rigorous and only allows those that are ready to pass. The 2021 ZIALE final examination results have indicated that only one student passed the examination out of the 395 students who sat.Mr Shonga however said LAZ is concerned with the low pass rate as it expected a higher score than what has been recorded. He is confident that those who did not make it in the first attempt will do better in the remaining two attempts, adding it is possible that students only failed in one of the 11 courses.Ends.
