Former home affairs minister Steven Kampyongo who was driven to Shiwang’andu district in Muchinga Province in the early hours of Thursday is still in police custody. Kampyongo was detained by officers at Chelston police on Wednesday.He was later on Thursday driven to Shiwang’andu district in Muchinga in the early hours of Thursday.Police on Wednesday recorded a warn and caution statement from Kampyongo for allegedly endangering the safety of an aircraft and it’s passengers that wanted to land in Shiwang’andu during the 2015 election campaign.Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the alleged action was contrary to Section 8(f) of CAP 445 Safety of Civil Aviation Act of the laws of Zambia.He is however yet to be formally charged and arrested.
