NO one should bar Mr Chishimba Kambwili to contest the PF presidency because he qualifies and it is his democratic right which no one should infringe on, PF acting national chairperson Davies Chama has said.Mr Chama said in an interview that no one should bar or hinder Mr Kambwili from contesting the party presidency because despite not holding a position, he was still eligible to contest. He said that everyone was free to contest the presidency on condition that they followed the right procedure without demeaning the leaders in the party structures.“What I can tell you is that Mr Kambwili and all those who want to contest should feel free to do so as long as they followed the right procedure,” he said.Mr Chama said it was unfortunate that some people were trying to stop others from contesting and indicated that everyone would be allowed because the PF was a democratic party. He said that people should not fear Mr Kambwili or any member eyeing the seat but let them contest because this was good for the growth of democracy.Mr Chama however said he would not tolerate lawlessness from anyone and urged the aspirants not to engage themselves in activities that undermined the party’s leadership. He said the party needed to choose a leader who would steer it to greater heights and be able to bounce back from its slumber after losing the August 12 tripartite elections.“We are currently rebranding and what is just remaining is for the party to choose a leader who will steer it to greater heights,” Mr Chama said.
